Subs and Amp Suggestions

I'm looking for some subs and I was wonder what is the best kind out there and what amp would hold up to power those subs? If you have any suggestions, please let me know! thank you!

JL Audio makes some of te best sound for the low frequiencies (subs), but it'll cost you.
JL 500/1 amplifier & JL 13W7 make a real nice combo
