Looking to buy an Integra!
I am searching for a 2nd car, and after a fun test drive I took yesterday in a 01, I have decided an Integra it is that I will own.
I have a lot to learn about the car, and would like to know of any problems that may occur and just what to look out for that is common to the Integras.
I can tell you an automatic tranny won't even be considered. I'm hoping to buy a bone stock car so that I have a nice clean slate to start with.
I've searched this site for some info, but not finding exactly everything I'm needing.
I understand some of the basics already, but any info. would be great! Thanks!

I can't think of any one specific thing that goes out or is bad on integras. Just normal wear and tear type of things like on any cars. One thing partial to hondas is that you want to have your valves adjusted periodically, espically if you are racing your car. Other than that I'd say go for it.
:edit: actually, valve adjustment should be done on every car.

I can't afford a GSR, and honestly I don't need the power that goes with it. This will be my 2nd car and kept as a commuter car with the occassional SCCA day here and there.
I know with the car I currently own, there are specific problems associated with the production year that it is. Just thought there might be other cars out there with the same thing.

I also run a non-VTEC Third-Gen Integra (FYI: Chassis code DC4) and absolutely love it. You will be very impressed with the responsiveness of the chassis, motor et al. They are all around very solidly built cars, and as others have already mentioned, preventative maintenance is really the only thing to look out for.
I always look for cars with documented proof of periodic maintenance, and have yet to have a bad experience. My advice would be to also run a CarFax™ report on any cars you are considering for purchase. A good way to check up on the veracity of a private-party seller's answers.
Most of all, take your time. There are a good supply of DC Integras on the West Coast; it's worth holding out for one that has been treated with due care.
Once again, welcome to HAN.

Hybrid, more details would be great!
Since I've narrowed my search down (was considering a GTI, but the handling on the Integra impressed me more), so now i can take my time and research as much as possible on the Integra. I understand (I think) the different models such as RS, LS, GS and so on....so that's a good base start for me.

a couple things to watch for:
radiator top caps on all year integras have a habit of cracking.
you will seep oil around the cam plug. dont let a dealer try to rape you to fix it.
the clutch master cylinders also have a tendency to leak on these cars, though rarely bad enough to cause driveability issues.
