I also run a non-VTEC Third-Gen Integra (FYI: Chassis code DC4) and absolutely love it. You will be very impressed with the responsiveness of the chassis, motor et al. They are all around very solidly built cars, and as others have already mentioned, preventative maintenance is really the only thing to look out for.

I always look for cars with documented proof of periodic maintenance, and have yet to have a bad experience. My advice would be to also run a CarFax™ report on any cars you are considering for purchase. A good way to check up on the veracity of a private-party seller's answers.

Most of all, take your time. There are a good supply of DC Integras on the West Coast; it's worth holding out for one that has been treated with due care.
