Who makes a 10-12 lbs Flywheel????
Hey,
I'm thinking about putting a new clutch into my SI. Since its my daily driver.
I want to put in a lighter fly wheel, but not sure how light.
I dont think I want to go as low as a 9 lbs fly wheel.
I was thinking about 10-12 lbs??
Can anyone help me out ? with which brand to get?
and what weight?
Thanks
DK

Stock flywheels can have about 20% of their mass safely machined off, but this is not recommended for high shock clutch systems or hard daily driving, though it will survive, it just doesn't make sense given the availability of good aftermarket alloy flywheels, but is a cheaper alternative.

However, if we were to discuss say... a 1st gen CRX
, its stock flywheel is what, about 14-16 pounds, Harry? Then you might still be in the OK range with a flywheel lighter than 10 pounds.I like Exedy because it is a quality manufacturer, chromoly, and inexpensive in comparison to other brands.
