Default Honda Crank pully question.

Are honda crank pullies a balancer for the crank?

My traction bars won't clear the pully I need about a 1/4 inch shaved off the pully. I know its probably not a good idea, but would it be damaging to the motor?

Yes. They dampen the harmonics of the engine, and are balanced with the crank to help keep it from coming unassed. I would take it down to a machine shop and let them shave it, and have it rebalanced when they're done. It shouldn't cost more than 50 bucks to do.
