Pretty soon people will start cutting into their hoods and using those filters to create a WRX-intercooler-type effect. Oh, wait, they already have...

How sad.

ud be changing filters all the time, ud get bugs and other debris hitting the filter at speeds that intakes are not meant to be at. thats my personal opinion. id be afraid of using it and accidentally having a rock hit it go thru the filter and being sucked right into ur engine, ive seen what a BB can do to a piston id be even more worried about a jagged little rock.

No, there's normally a plexi cover that goes across the front of the filter, so there's no forced air filtratation at all anyways, the air is pulled off the back side of the box, up next to the radiator where the air is really cool [if nearly boiling is nice and cool]. It looks dumb, and isn't even very well implemented. Spend your money elsewhere, if you're going to put something in front of the radiator, better be a FMIC.

saw a post somewhere about a non turbo intercooler. This looks like the same thought. Looks restrictive on the inlet and don't think the cooler air would help anyways. A standard cold air setup is as cold as non boosted intake needs to be.
