No, there's normally a plexi cover that goes across the front of the filter, so there's no forced air filtratation at all anyways, the air is pulled off the back side of the box, up next to the radiator where the air is really cool [if nearly boiling is nice and cool]. It looks dumb, and isn't even very well implemented. Spend your money elsewhere, if you're going to put something in front of the radiator, better be a FMIC.
