Default Prep work 4 Supercharged Si?

I have a 99 Si. To this day my car is stock except lowering springs. I plan on getting an exhaust for now. I am also looking into getting a Supercharger(Jackson Racing). I was hoping you guys could give me some tips on what to buy. What i mean is shit like CAI, header, new fuel injectors etc. Also what is a safe psi to run with stock internals? This will be a daily driver. I dont race very much, just want the extra speed for fun. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks:thumbup

Just go turbo man, those superchargers are way overpriced and over rated, the turbo has much more potential.

Or. . . just build up what you got and go all motor.

Dan told me you were going turbo, what happend to that idea?

reason being is only because I have that Honda cetified warranty. If I do need any major warranty work, then a supercharger would be much easier to disasamble and put stock back togethr than a tubo. trust me,i would love to have a turbo rather supercharger, more power, BOV and the intercoler just chillin in the grill!!!! But i can get a whole supercharger kit for 1100.00

oh yea my bro told me about that, i dont trust it, and imo i dont think a supercharger is any easier to hide from honda mechanics, they will obviously see that the intake bolts have been removed. If the motor is blown on boost they will know it, they will do what they can to not pay for that shit. Neither is easy to dissasemble but the turbo, hands down is easier to remove.

The 1100 dollar turbo?? id like to see what that looks like

I would highly advise against supercharging any 1.6L. $1100 or $2000, you'll probably be disappointed.

jackson racing supercharger will not void the warranty. no afetrmarket parts void warrantys. however, if u are going supercharger then do a vortech. its aftercooled and much better than the jackson.

Id like to see that in writing from honda. The honda by my house refused to do warranty work on my friends 99 civic ex's throwout bearing because he had a header, just a header. Its the same as sucking up water with a cai, honda wont cover the motor damage; it had an aftermarket intake, unless of course you overpaid for the intake and then paid the additional cost of installation by a certified honda tech.

I have heard they will cover comptech, only, if they install it themselves.

there is a law that prohibits dealers to void warrantys because of aftermarket parts. if something goes wrong with the car, then yes... they can refuse to fix it because of an intake, header etc. but most dealerships wont do it unless thier major bitches. plus u can just take it off

That's against the law. They have to prove that the modification caused the damage.

Lets say the wastegate stuck on a turbo and blew the pistons, now what, they cant say that was a factory default. Its not honda's problem that the motor cant take 22lbs of boost My guess is that honda takes it on a case by case issue, if you want to take that chance then go for it, or if you know some one inside honda's service department that helps too:naughty:
