Idle Problems
i have a 88 crx si motor with a fuel pressure regulator, chikara header, aem cold air intake and my idle problems are making me upset
it'll sit at 1500rpm then go down to 1000 then shoot back up to 1500...i've tried to mess around with fuel pressure regulator but if i go to low it'll go down to like 200rpm and almost die then shoot up to 2000rpm and so on.....any help? email me at mpcase@charter.net i would appreciate it much if you have any idea at all!

Are you having any kinda cold/snowy/icey weather recently or has this been going on for a while?
My 96 did this once when it was really cold. I've been seeing a lot of people describing similar problems ever since the rash of snow/ice storms have hit parts of the country. Could just be coinsidence though.

It's possible... but I'm going to go with it probably not being the cause. However I'm stupid, I'd wait for someone with more experiance and knows what they are talking about to give you an answer.
hah, hard to tell for me. I'm not really anything close to an engine tech. I think it might be because of the cold... it could just be bad luck. Mine only did it once, after the hood was up for about 3 hours while it was snowing... was about 2" of snow on it in that time. Could be.
Ok thanks, makes me feel better.. i've only had the car for 6 months, since june... so it hasn't seen winter with me yet so it is just happening at the start of winter and it gets cold here.
mainly before it warms up, it does happen after its warmed up but also my heat gauge does NOT go up cuz my radiator is taking in too much cold air, my engine stays cool all the time now in the winter, in the summer it was fine...so i dunno.
