Sounds like a bad fast idle thermo valve.

My heat gauge does work just its taking in too much cold air, already tried it... sat in my garage and held it at 3 and heat gauge went right up to its normal point but as i drive it goes down cuz its too cold.....and i have no clue what that fast idle thermo is... if you could explain a little more on what it is and what it does.

if its your fast idle, you can take it apart and replace the one thing that came faulty with them, the o-ring. replace it with viton. done and done.

Nevermind guys i figured it out, it was cuz it is cold out...today it was in the 40's and my engine heated up hotter and the idle was more consistant at 1000rpm, so it was just cuz its cold out here.
