The '97-'01 Preludes had an automatic option. It's got a tiptronic mode so I don't know if it'll work with the plain automatic shifter that's in your car. Otherwise you should be able to take an H22 longblock and bolt it to the transmission you already have.

Either way, the H22 doesn't have any significant advantage over the H22 until it kicks onto the hot cam so if you're not going to be spending a lot of time at high RPM I don't think it's that great of an option.

the floor console & shifter would need changing becuz of that SportTronic shifter. it's a neat little toy to play w/, but nothing like a real clutch/shifter action. you can always do a VTEC-head conversion, it's rarely done but possible.

It would be a lot sipler to sell your car and buy a VTEC model of a similar year.

The transmissions for the most part are identical and have a "manual" shift option that won't work with your shifter.

The H22 head will bolt onto your motor. You will not feel much of an increase in power except when you're gunning the motor since the automatic tends to shift before you hit the VTEC switchover.

I would say get a turbo and run low boost levels to improve around-town response.
