Dealer licking his chops over a 5grand overhaul[no way] says bearings most likely damaged..Eye said oil looks good and clear, not foamey..is there a place to get the oil checked for coolant in it...any ideas where the problem lies..."just in tyme for christmass"

Most like a blown headgasket, especially if it's around the oil port that feeds the top of the head. [where the pressure would be highest]

ty 1stGenCRXer for the thought...was wishing there was an oil cooler somewhere in or on the 92, 3.2L which could spring a leek into the water.
..Q...92 was beginning of in line V-6, and wonder if head gaskets can be replaced w/o removing engine...is 92 Legend L, 4dr

I would also guess it's the headgasket if it's displacing your coolant with oil. You can replace the headgasket with the engine in the car on an inline-four, so I don't see why you couldn't do the same on a V6. Of course, you would need to know which headgasket is leaking, since you have two.

Oil in the floor meaning the garage floor or floor meaning the floorboard of your car?

Harry, your correct..on the garage floor, where it will set till, sub, or sell car as is[beautiful body, rotten engine]. Done a lot on engines, but no nohow to tackle something like this, pretty well by myself. What didnt get to the garage floor, and highways, ended up in the expansion tank, drained about 1 qt of sludge, but still had the looks of oil..oil floats to top of radiator.

All eyes are focused to a blown HG, which makes me feel good compared to one general trouble shooters reference on IC gasoline engines suggests cracked cylinder head[s] are most likely cause..Obviously need new HG when taking heads on and off..any thoughts about this..and if i picked up a crack in head oil galley, can it be tested for once the head is off the car???
I'm also looking for used shop manual for this 92 4dr legend...copies of oem manuals take 4 to 6 weeks..tooo long to let my ride set..

Most reputable machine shops should be able to pressure test your head for leaks. Call around and double check before diving too far into your engine would be my last suggestion.
