Default Few D series Q's

So one of my questions is: 1.What exactly is blue printing and balancing? How much would it cost to blue print and balance a D16A6 to 10xxx Rpm's?

2.Some one on this board said that you can use B series Manifolds and Headers on D series motors.... Any truth to that?

3.Does anyone make an aftermarket crankshaft for my car already balanced?

4.Who makes a BOMB ASS manifold for the A6? Is the skunkworks one any good?

1. Blue printing is essentially making sure that everything inside the motor is at the exact factory spec rather than in tolerance. Balancing is what it sounds like. The rotating assembly is spun up to whatever RPM and weighted to spin more smoothly. You won't need to balance a D-series up to 10,000 RPM because you're not going to rev it that high.

2. Not gonna work unless you rework the flanges to fit.

3. Not that I know of. But you want the crank, rods, pistons, flywheel and crank pulley all together.

4. Intake or exhaust manifold? I don't believe skunk2 makes a D-series intake manifold if that's what you're talking about.

To make power at 10,000 RPM would require a cam so aggressive you would need to set the base idle speed somewhere around 2,000 RPM and it would still be lumpy. No reason to rev that high and bring more wear and tear if it's not going to make power.

You don't buy a whole kit of balanced parts, you have your existing stuff balanced by a machine shop.

A 10000 rpm single cam, I'd like to see that.

The skunkworks manifold.... It wont make a diff if its a VTEC SOHC or not will it? I meen its a manifold... The manifold has nothing to do with VTEC right? All the stuff from the Y8 and Z6 heads fit on the A6 head fine right?

Is it still a good idea to balance it up to 10xxx even if I redline @ 6800? And who makes a camshaft that is agresive enough to get me to 8k maybe, and still be streetable... I dont know how high I could go and still be streetable. :dunno: What are your oppinions? I want to make some REAL WHP in a NON VTEC SOHC, NON FI... That is my goal. 225-250 WHP and still streetable (without drawing to much police attention) Is what Im lookin for Ya know enough to give the ol B16A with basic bolt ons a bad day... Im sure 11:1 comp pistons are in oreder allong with a MSD system and NOS... But what am I REALY lookin @ WHP wise?
You build a baddass D16A6 in your head thats N/A and tell me what kind of whp you see there...

Not going to happen in a streetable D series unless you bore it out to like 84 mm. The stroke is already 95 mm, the motor doesn't like to rev.
