If you get that much HP for $2k, they're seriously giving you the discount price. It's doable, but usually not for that cheap.

220 whp for $2,000 all-motor??? Good price but I think they're crappin' y00. 220 hp crank sounds more realistic but for $2,000 I would ask them what they're doing specifically.

If we could get 220 whp for $2,000 all those turbo and supercharger guys would go out of business.

I'd laugh at someone who told me that I could make 220 whp starting with my engine AND its current mods with $2000.

I doubt you'll be able to get anything over 200whp on a Y8 without using some form of F/I. Even if it were possible to do it N/A, it would cost a lot more than $2k.

Not worth it. I'd just boost it.

i'm sposed to go to the shop today to see their estimates.. on prices and power.... if it is possible to get 200-220 hp out of my d16y8 then how much you think it would cost?? see i was gonna do an h22a swap... but they said install would be $2200.. not includin' motor and what not that goes w/ buying the motor... and i just don't have that much money!! they said for a swap that just bolts in .. around $1200... before they said something like $900 a couple of weeks ago... but that was some girl on the phone and i haven't seen her there since.... so that may be been a bogus price... but $1200 for a swap that bolts in!!.. .what's ya'lls opinions??????

For 2k you can build a bulletproof d16. then spend a little more for the greddy kit and a simple boost controller and boost the piss out of it. even if you're on a tight budget this setup is feasable. but try shopping around for some other shops and on the internet before you spend anything.

Well this sounds like yer typical shop quoting flywheel hp numbers rather than at the wheels to get make prospective customers more enthusiastic about dropping a few grand.

To make the 200 hp this shop is talking about you'll need to put about 170 hp to the wheels. Will an all-motor D16Y8 do that? Maybe, but it doesn't seem very likely to me.

This place doesn't have a dyno in-house, do they?
