If you're not going to increase the bore size, I don't see why you would need to have the pistons "cut to match" the head. I don't think aftermarket 84mm pistons will need to be modified to work with a stock B20 head. If anything, while you're getting the head ported, you can have the cylinders deshrouded if you think you're not going to have enough clearance for the higher comp pistons.
The Block Has Been Bored Out To Just under 2.2
What is needed to be done to make the block almosr bullet proof?
I have also heard that if the head is ported and polished aftermarket cams have no effect.

The block has been bored out 20 over and we plan to use a b18b head so I am sure that the pistons need to be modified to match the valves. You have a good point (inspyral) about the Strength of the sleeve so a block guard will probably help us out a lot. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We need to look at every aspect of building this motor and it is very easy to over look key things. thanks
If you don't care about a lumpy idle, look at Crower 404 cams. Be warned, you'll swear the car has morphed into a deranged Harley every time you pull up to a stoplight.
Also if you only bored 20 over, that's not going to bring the displacement up to 2.2 liters. Stock is 1973 cc, you're not going to gain 200 cc just from that small of an increase in bore.
What car is it going into and what kind of traction adders have you considered?
