Clicking sound when engine is warm
I have a 94 accord that makes a clicking sound only when under load and when engine is warm. It does not make the sound while at idle, while in park and revving, or while cruising.
Timing belt was replaced at 80k miles, valves checked and were ok. Distributor replaced with re-man (these are junk) at 86k and again at 86,008.
At 90k it now has this clicking sound, I've tried higher octane fuel, verified timing is correct, no success.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Dan

They were checked and verified to be in spec, by a mechanic.
I took it to a mechanic today and they 90 percent sure it is the egr valve, they said it needs to be cleaned and a fuel system treatment. I guess I'll try that and see if it works.

The fuel system treatment and egr cleaning didn't work.
I messed around with the timing a little and it affected the sound some. I went back to the parts store and swapped the distributor one last time for reman #3. This solved the problem. It probably would have been worth spending the extra $150 for a new distributor.
Thanks for the other ideas, I'm just glad it's done with.
