The fuel system treatment and egr cleaning didn't work.

I messed around with the timing a little and it affected the sound some. I went back to the parts store and swapped the distributor one last time for reman #3. This solved the problem. It probably would have been worth spending the extra $150 for a new distributor.

Thanks for the other ideas, I'm just glad it's done with.
