Default best place to buy b18c

Does anyone know a reputable place to buy a B18c complete swap(engine, trans, ecu) for under at least $2700? I have already looked at alot of trusted places but they all seem to just have engine and not the tranny or the other stuff.

thanks

Moved to Engine Tech & Tuning.

And frankly, you're going to have a hard time finding a complete swap in good condition for under $3K.
Despite the growth of K-series swaps, the B18C still commands a high price.

You'd still need a set of axles, mounts and (depending on the host chassis) the shift linkage... but this one comes close to your price point.

it really doesnt bother me if it has high mileage or not. I am just looking for a newer motor because mine is going to crap. I was looking into turboing my motor but now i dont think its worth until i get it fully tested.
Thats a pretty good deal. How difficult is it to swap this engine over into a 91 LS? Would anything needed to be modified?

There is a fair bit of wiring involved with a B18C swap, but nothing too horrid.
Just out of curiosity... is smog legality an issue? Are you in CA?

To be honest, if all you really need to do is get the car moving again, you could save plenty by just chucking another B18A1 under the hood.

That way, all you would need is a longblock. It would just be a matter of dropping the entire drivetrain, pulling the dying motor and bolting in the new(er) one.

Call me a pessimist, but I tend to think about all of the other things that will wear out on a 16-year old chassis, particularly one that's driven hard. :hsughr:

I am not in Cali so i dont gotta worry about anything. I think today i am going to get my valves adjusted. The ticking noise just worries me even though it can be fixed. I was also considering a b16. Are those engines pretty good? the reason for my questions is cause this is the only honda ive had.

B16A aren't worth your time IMO. They make more noise than power and the DA9 is a bit too heavy to make it a realistic daily driver.

You're losing what little torque you get with the B18A1... and you still have the complexity of wiring for the ECU as you would with the B18C1.

In the short term, check out the valvetrain noise and while you're at it, compression and leakdown test it as well. Then decide wheter to rebuild or or replace the motor.
