Default CrVtecTurbo??

What’s everybody’s thoughts here about CrVtec with Turbo? Stock block and everything. I bought a car not to long ago that has it. I’ve only driven it a couple times before the rings blew. So I’m trying to figure out if I want to fix the block and see if I can make it work or not. Or just throw in an Ls block. I’ll probably get an ls block for a back up if it blows and it might. I just want some feedback on what everyone thinks. I’m sure I’ll get a bunch of replies saying I won’t work or wont last I don’t care I want to try.

rebuild it with the right parts and get a good tune and it'll last you awhile. b20 sleeves are known to crack at high boost/hp levels so be careful with it unless you want to resleeve.

I don't have the money now to sleeve it but I do plan on doing it later

A B20 is probably the last Honda motor I would boost unless it was sleeved.

How long has the turbo been on the car? What engine management are you using?

I would just rering it and have it tuned since the tune it had previously was junk.

The Guy I bought it from had the turbo on it for a year. then he bought some injectors and could't get the car to run right. Later I found no resistors. It was running about 15lbs of boost.

a CRVtec motor with the stock bottom end with a turbo is just asking for it since the B20 motor was never designed for the high revs with the vtec head also it lacks the oil squirters in the vtec block and to add 15lbs of boost into the mix is a accident waiting to happen. if this was my car the vtec head would go just run the B20z with the turbo and have a programable OBD1 ecu and have it dyno tuned.

that's right a stock bottom end wasnt designed for high rpm's. but with forged rods and pistons and a balanced crank it's not much of an issue anymore. same with the oil squirters.

I'm not going to run 15lbs of boost thats what it was getting when I bought it. I plan on running 7lbs of boost and I'm putting a blockguard in to help the sleeves out. And ARP rod bolts and main studs. If It works out somewhat i'll throw in son rods and pistons. I have a Hondata S200 so I was gonig to run it to 7200 or 7800.

a block guard isnt going to do anything for sleeve stability. they're more trouble than they're worth. the money spent to properly install one is better spent on resleeving.

also you wont need mainstuds
