OBD1 ecu on obd2 motor??
Is it possible to use my OBD1 ecu off of my dead b18c on an obd2 b18c?
I have a guy selling an OBD2 b18c only 45min from me. Its a good deal, but I want to stay OBD1.
Is there more to making a motor obd1 than just the ecu?
What kind of problems am I going to run into?
Thanks guys

First, you will need an OBD2(a or b) to OBD1 conversion harness to be able to plug in the ECU. Although, I'm not sure if you would need and OBD1 distributor- probably not I think. The A or B is determined by the year of your car and/or motor and distributor. Do you have this motor in your car and what year is it?

What makes an engine OBD2 or OBD1 when its out of the car is just the distrbutor thats on it, and maybe the engine wiring harness. In this case, transfer the OBD1 dizzy from your old motor to this one, and you new motor will now be OBD1. If it does not plug in to the engine wiring harness, transfer your old engine wiring harness to the new motor, and it should drop in like stock.
