Built Head!
What are the effects of a fully built head and a stock bottom end. Will a built head cause problems with and unbuilt b16 block. I rev 8500 with a computer right now, what would be a safe rev with this set up?
Parts are: Skunk 2 pro series stage 2 cams; skunk 2 valve springs and retainers; Skunk 2 68mm bore intake manifold and throttle body; spoon head gasket; racing valves; new valve guides and valve stem; stage 2 port and polish; 5 angle job; and other machine shop bullshit

8500 rpm isn't going to cause any damage with the stock block but if you want to go higher, I would suggest some ARP rod bolts. It all depends on where those cams stock making power. I can't imagine them making power all the way to 9k.
i believe the pro2's do keep making power up to 9k. running a fully built head with a stock bottom end wont let the engine make its full potential power. build the block with enough compression so the cams can take advantage of it.
Funds are holding me back but i didnt want to build the b16 and was looking into a block swap like either a gsr or ls or b20 fully built.....but leaning more towards the gsr for reliability and saving money on shit like oil and water pumps and vtec conversion kits and the hassle of getting a good mechanic.
does anyone kno a good site to get some intake valves for a b16? And with the built head.......so i get bigger injectors or just up the fuel with the fuel pressure regulator or just wait till i get the block?
check that website out.......it says the typre r intake valves fit any b-series
