Default limits on my build...

Okay, so i've been changing my B18C1 build plans alot, but now im considering sleeving. Heres what I have so far:

81.5mm Wiseco pistons, Eagle H Beams, ACT Streetlight Flywheel OEM Resurfaced Crank & Balanced rotating assembly. Still debating on the use of Golden Eagle Block Guard.

For the head - Blox Titanium Retainers, Valvesprings, and supertech valves. Stock GSR Cams with AEM cam gears for now until I get everything setup. Then I might go for ITR or CTR.

A custom turbo setup with Ramhorn & garret ball bearing T3/TO4E. Tunning with Chrome on a chipped P72 OBDI.

My original HP goal was 300. I've bought alot of stuff sense then, and im thinking that my stock sleeves are the only thing holding me from 400 whp. Mabye the eagle rods too? Should I sell & go with crower or carillo?

The engine is still out of the car, so its easy for me to go back and change plans. If adding the sleeves only gives me an extra 50 hp with that, then its a waste. So what do you think the engine potential is with a good tune -- with and without sleeves? What boost PSI could i run safely & how high can I rev?

The downtime is not a big factor, this is no longer my daily driver. I have the 1000$ for sleeving, but any more & im gonna have to budget for another month. h: TIA!

Edit: BTW - My calculated CR is 9.5:1

You can do 400 whp easiliy without sleeves on a good tune.

Eagle rods are plenty sufficient at that power level. If it were me, I would use CP pistons instead of Wiseco and something better than a Blox valvetrain.

Whatever amount of boost gets you to your goal, run it. As high as the engine makes power, set the rev limiter there. With GSR cams, the stock rev limit will be as far as it makes power. It is a turbo engine; you don't have to rev the piss out of it to make insane power.

And skip the block guard.

Well, I should have just PM'd you. I had a feeling you would be the person with answers. Why should I go with CP pistons instead? My block is already together, so if theres not an extremely good reason i'd rather leave it together. I know that sleeving would require me to dissassemble, but if the potential was significantly higher then I would have done so. Any certain valvetrain you would recomend? I could always buy different springs, retainers, & valves before I take it to the machine shop for port & polish. Then sell what I have. Thanks to the ostrich for all your advice along the way!

CP pistons are accurate to within 0.0001" of each other, so you won't have to measure or weigh them. Since you already have the Weisco pistons, don't bother. They are both excellent pistons.

A lot of guys are using Ferrea valvetrain components with great success. Your Blox's might hold up to the high boost, but a dropped or floated valve is going to be a disaster.
