Finally started my GSR build
After months of having my gsr motor pulled (11 to be exact), I finally got around to rebuilding it for an all motor set-up. Thanks to all the previous threads on building up their GSR's, it helped me decide how I want to build it and what power to expect out of it.
Here is what I have so far:
GSR Block with..
JDM ITR Pistons on GSR Rods
OEM Piston Rings
King Bearings
All new oem gaskets and seals
OBD2 GSR Head with..
ITR Cams
AEM Cam Gears
Skunk2 Valvesprings & Retainers
Supertech Racing Valves
Skunk2 IM w/Hondata Gasket
ITR Throttle Body (port-matched to IM)
AEM Fuel Rail & FPR
B16 Hydro Tranny
ACT 6puck Clutch
That is it for now.. Still deciding on which header and intake. I keep running into $$$ issues. Why can't I just be sponsored already!!

Yeah I was kind of hesitant at first when using the King bearings, but all the clearances were within spec when I measured them so I figured I'd give them a shot. As far as engine management, I have a p28 with obd2-0bd1 jumper, but I'm still deciding on Crome vs. Hondata.
IMO I always say to use genuine Honda parts when you can...
But, if you measured the specs, then I'm sure you're good to go...
As for the tuning, I would have to say Crome, hell it's FREE!
That outta be good enough in my book
I know the Hondata's are nice, but for $600... I like the sound of FREE
Otherwise sounds like a nice setup...
Good luck man

Regarding bearings, I went with Honda OEM on my first build (~290whp, ~13psi) and then went with ACL on my second (457whp, 23psi). As mentioned, as long as they're spec'd/clearanced properly then you're set. I wouldn't even just drop OEM bearings in either, I'd spec anything that you decide on, to be safe. Nothing like a bearing set that's too tight or too loose on a crank journal. :hs:
GL dude!
GL dude!
And Hondata S300 can be had cheaper than $600.
anyone know of some really good tuners out in the bay area california area?? i know how to build motors and everything, but i have no clue when it comes to tuning them.. im leaning more towards crome..
