1. It is a D16 and no, the LS block will not bolt up to the D series tranny. You need a hydraulic B series tranny.

2. It won't just bolt up. Search ls vtec and you will get your answer.

Hey,
Sounds like you need some help deciphering the engine codes Honda uses...
No offense, but it sounds like you need to do some research before you attempt to do anything hybrid-wise... I was a noob once before too...

I totally agree with schmoo, he knows his sh**
If you got a stock civic, then you got a D-series motor. D-series were designed for the american market, and therefore the dimensions among other things are NOT the same as a B16, including the tranny.
Yes, you can put a GSR head on an LS block, but it's not as simple as "bolting it up". You MUST take it to a machine shop to have the dowel pin holes drilled out (larger) just to place it on the LS block...
In addition, there are many other things that must be done...
Just do some research and THEN if you have any questions, maybe we can help

For the tranny measure the diameter of the pressure plate...
The d-series has a diameter of ~212mm*
The b-series has a diameter of ~220mm*

* Pretty sure, but #'s are from my memory, can someone validate?
Yeah having it Ported and Polished will help to flow some more air...
Just look for a writeup on how to do LS/VTEC...
I need some more information to help u anymore...
