Tuners in Socal?
the type r is pretty much a race motor, mostly anyone should know that but, the motor liek a lil advancement on the camshaft, even with stock cams, some adj cam gears would be a good thing to have, u wont make much peak power prolly like 15 more, but u can gain alot of mid range whcih thats whats gonna put u in ur seat, big time
I know the TR is a race motor already. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Is a Hondata upgrade worth it? How 'bout CTR cams? And I know this is taboo, but what about turbo? Would I be better off with a LS or B20 block? This is my daily driver but I'm willing to squeeze(no nitrous) whatever I can out of this motor. If this motor is limited I would like to move on to something else while retaining the civic. I love nothing more than pissing off would-be "cool guys" in their Mustangs, Boxsters and BMW's. Is it me, should I be losing all-out freeway races with Carrera's? Or do they just not know how to drive? Oh, and adjustable cams are illegal in California. I already got caught without a catalytic converter and would rather keep it on the DL with the fuzz. Now the car is rather quiet unless I get on the throttle. Better for the wallet.

yeah u can turbo it, but then u have to worry about runnign to lean, its gonna cost money, but that should'nt be an issue, the thing about it is everone is focus on makin more power to beat the next guy, but u have to focus on engine response, and reliable power production, me im a allmotor guy, a allmotor engine is superior to a turbo motor, if u take a turbo motor and a allmotor engine makin the same amount of power the allmotor will walk the dog on it everytime, i been getting into the turbo enigne catagory, but i use high compression and low boost, i want the motor to do alot more work, with these high boost low compression engines, the engine it self does little work, but stresses itself due to high boost, we now have a b18a with 10 psi making 706 hp to the flywheel, but its a race only motor, also boost is not the important thing on a turbo, its the boost ratio, u have alot of perameters, if u have any questions about a turbo biuld up u can email me dont have no problem helpin anyone out
where do u guys get this info, this thread is full of BS, both of u guys need to do more research...
A turbo depending on the turbo aplication can be just as responsive as an n/a motor
Cam gears are worthless on an n/a motor with stock cams, u may gain a horse or 2...
ITR 00-01 are the same as CTR cams
What do u need hondata for? what are your mods?
ITR race motor umm i don't think so, its a street car and yes it is a great motor but it is not a "race engine"
plz first do more research before sprending around BS

I'm sorry but I trust a race motor builder over a turbo GSR street motor. The race motor requires more science than an add on turbo build. And yes, the ITR motor IS a race motor whether you think it's BS or not.
typercivic i appreciate ur comment, and gsr guy i've been doing this for a long time, i have 1100hp 350 smallblocks in my garage, and 450hp allmotor dirttrack motors, im not new to this, been doing it for over 8 years, but anyway, lik i said take 2 motors same output lets say 2 300hp engines one turbo and the other allmotor, the turbo motor will never beat it, when u add in power adders ther goes ur response, turbo motor can be biult for response, the mines lancer and skyline took advantage over that, very great response on turbo motors and the reason why, they did'nt have to push like 200pis of boost, u give me a motor and a combination i can do a better one than anyone i can even give u specs on it, i'll givew u a plan on a 700hp b18c5 only on 10psi. if u wanna challenge me, i will back it up
thanks for ur coment typercivic need any help feel free to ask

what was the point of your responses? i think i gave more usueful info then what was present thus far in this thread... i am not tryin to knock your intelligence and if i came acorss like that wasn't my intention at all, but the info that was being passed here is incorrect, and big block v8s are totally different then a honda motor, and i would love to see the 700 hp @ 10psi on a b18c5, i call bull shit until there is a dyno sheet posted....
either way the point is to help each other out, and sorry if u felt i was bashing on u...
