Default knock sensor - I need help!

Hi all, great forum here! On my 98 gs-r, I replaced the knock sensor & still getting check engine light & knock code. How do I know if the wiring is bad or if the sensor is actually detecting knocking? I've listened to the engine & it certainly doesn't sound like it's knocking.

Living in NJ, have supercharger & hondata s200. Put stock computer & injectors back in, running no boost, back to OB2 for the good ole 2 year check. Have I/H/E on - could that be tripping the knock sensor or is wiring f-ed up? Got the car used & had to get a replacement stock ecu - got 37820-P72-A04 - is A04 vs A03 potentially the problem??

I'm losing my marbles w/ this for 3 weeks now. Please help! many thanks in advance!

ps - if it is the knock sensor tripping, how can I desensitize it or fool the ecu that it's working properly?

Don't know about the difference in A04 and A03, but the knock sensor produces an AC signal, that, when the amplitude is high enough - caused by vibration or knock, it will trip the computer...
It could be wiring, but I'm not sure...

Wrap it in duct tape and leave it hanging, LOL...
Do u have a supercharger? it could possibly be detonating...

thanks for the reply. Definitely no detonation in this setup as the supercharger is bypassed. Isn't there a way to ground out the sensor to fool the computer that knock sensor is working properly? I thought I saw something about that a while ago but can't find it. Maybe a could sponge & duct tape it & let it hang & plug the hole w/ the xtra sensor. Hmmm? Still would love to really get to the bottom if it! Anyone else have any ideas?

I had a problem with the knock sensor before and it turn out that the wire wasn't connected to the knock sensor. The wire was to far back and when I plug it in it wasn't really touching.. So what I did was, I push the plastic cover back and pull the wire forward and connect it together. Then once it was connected, I slowly push the plastic cover forward to cover the sensor.. So check to see if its really connected.
