I'm not a honda expert, so dont tear me apart, but i do know my way around...
my question is what do i need. I've heard i need a b16 head. what different heads will mount to my stock b18b. and what ecu would i have to swap in. what options do i have before i start my search for parts
thanks for your help in advance.

You will need a OBD 1 ecu, since your car is a 95. 96 and up came with obd 2. You can still use OBD2, but you have to get a conversion thing (not sure what its called), so its easier to use OBD1. As for the Head you can use i think any vtec head, B18c head, b16 head, and b17 head. With a b16 head, your OEM LS headers will bolt right up and maybe the manifold too. HOWEVER, if u want it done right, then go get some gsr or type r pistons and rods and maybe a crank too. You might want to change the OIL pump and water pump too. ALSO you need to take the block to a machine shop, have them hone it, resurface the head, tap the head for oil line and thread a hole for a KNOCK SENSOR.

You don't really have to change the pumps. But a GSR oil and water pump is better than ls. Get type r if u got the money. Resurfacing the head is necessary to ensure that everything is sealed good. Honing pretty much makes the engine like new. it cleans the block on the inside... Hope that helps

Honing doesn't clean anything. It creates a rough surface on the cylinder walls so that new rings will seal correctly.
Hey guys i also heard a stock the ls block with b16 head will have much more significant torque that the stock ls tranny will not really be a good match for this?
Is it true?- if it is, what tranny would you suggest?/ what trannys would bolt to the b18b block?

Any B-series hydraulic tranny will fit the B18B1 without any problems. A B16 tranny is one of the best early upgrades to an ls vtec setup because of its short ratios that speed up acceleration.
