91 civic transmission question

Default 91 civic transmission question

for the 4 speed auto, is this transmission equipped with a lockup torque converter?

You mean an electronic lock-up convertor? I don't believe so...

yeah one of those thingies. also, the a/c in this car still happens to work and i'm wondering if a 15 second compressor interval is considered normal for these cars. it goes on for 15 secs, off for about 10, then repeats. a/c is COLD.

As long as the A/C is cold, I would imagine that it's working properly, assuming you can control the temperature fine still.

i only ask because my other car, a bonneville, lets the compressor go for about a minute or so before cycling it. i can imagine being a smaller car having a smaller evaporator and therefore needing more cycling to keep it from freezing, but sometimes this amount of cycling means a low freon content.

Most I can say is to get it checked if you think it's low, but if it's going cold, you should be ok.
