Is there OBD0 ,1 and 2 Vtec Soleniods and what would be the dif if there is? Think the guy I bought my head from is trying to pull a fast on on me.

 

Look on hondaparts247.com or someplace like that, & put in different year cars. See whether it's the same part number...

I suspect that they all work about the same, so it's not really OBD-? differences. But maybe the mounting bolt pattern is different for F, B, H, or ?? engines?

 

I'm almost positive they are exactly the same... Honda didn't change the DOHC VTEC design since it was introduced in 1989 in japan, until the k-series of course... The DOHC VTEC technology was developed in the late 80's for the NSX...
I know for a fact, most people with B16A swaps r running OBD-0 engines...
So it shouldn't matter, for the B-series that is...
I'm not very familiar with H-series, so I can't vouch for that.

P.S. I have a B16A1 with a GSR head swapped onto it... The solenoids from my original head and the GSR head are EXACTLY the same.

 

See the thing is I have a OBD0 head which i changed the Dist to OBD1 and the guy who I bought my head from says I have to change the Solenoid aswell to OBD1. So if they are all the same there is no need to change right?

 

Does the wiring plug fit together? (Are you willing to cut/splice wires?) Do the mounting bolt holes line up? I think that's all you have to worry about.

 

Its for a LS Vtec so I got the head which was OBD0 and changed the dist to OBD1. Now the guy says I need to buy a OBD1 Solenoid to get it to work which I think is a load of crap.
