New fuel pressure regulator design: Opinions Please
This is not a commercial solicitation to sell product, just feedback on design.
It will bolt straight onto the rail on the return units, and we're also working on a returnless model as well. I'd appreciate some feedback?
*Direct Bolt-On to the factory of aftermarket fuel rail with no additional fuel connections
*Piston-based actuator without a diaphragm to fail
*Will support over 1000+ HP
*Interchangeable bypass orifices to accomodate upgraded higher flow fuel pumps
*Adjustable static fuel pressure via a turn screw
*Chamber dedicated to 1:1 ratio
*Boost-only chamber for a total of 12:1 ratio
*Infinitely adjustable rising rate ratio from 1:1 to 12:1
*Retain fuel pressure in rail, so that you don't have to prime the fuel pump on the next startup
From an application perspective, here are some things you can do:
*Turbo/Supercharged, will raise the fuel pressure enough for up to 10 psi of boost
*Will allow you to trim back larger injectors and still add fuel as a ratio of boost
*NA- Can be used to accomodate a larger fuel pump or larger injectors
*NA- Can be used to simply fine tune the air/fuel ratio
*Nitrous- rigorous enough to sustain direct injection of Nitrous to richen mixtures under nitrous conditions
*Standalone Fuel Injection- Can be used a 1:1 ratio regulator to fine tune your EMS, or use some ratio (ie 2:1) to increase fuel atomization or extend the capability of your injector size.

Looks like a pretty nice unit. I am wondering, however, what sets this unit apart from any other fuel pressure regulator currently on the market? Is it just a beefier unit that is capable of higher pressures or is there something special that makes it unique and superior?
It would be nice if the CAD drawing had some labeling to show how it actually works and what makes it superior.

Basically what is going to set this unit apart from any other fuel pressure regulator currently on the market (or for the next 20 years due to a patent) for Honda/Acura are the following:
1) small enough as a 12:1 regulator to bolt straight onto the fuel rail using the factory fuel connections, so you don't have potential fuel leaks and carBQ's
2) Absolutely no diaphragm, so it is very responsive to boost and all transitions from vacuum. And for the NOS guys, tough enough to get hit straight with NOS, like a wet system without plumbing for wet jets.
In the end this regulator will be the first and last regulator a Honda/Acura owner will ever have to buy. From using 1:1 ratio with intake/exhaust/cams, then 12:1 with low boost, and then using it to fine tune Standalone like EMS. One investment, that will follow your project's progress.

It has been in development for way over a year, we're going live in about 30 days. I like to get end-user feedback before going live to see if I've missed anything. I hope that the community doesn't mind that I pick your brains, I know that most mfg's just make stuff and ram it down people's throats. Or make poorly designed product without a care for the end-user. So I like to make feedback a part of the creative process.
