G2 Integras, Cheap Swaps?

Default G2 Integras, Cheap Swaps?

I've posted about this before in another post but didnt quite get the response I wanted. On a budget, lets say $1000 or less, what are the options for fixing the 230k problem I have. Assuming I can swap the motor myself with the help of friends for free.

I have 2 solutions

1. Get a JDM ls motor with 30k. will run me $800-1000


2. Or the B20 sounds good, everything bolts right up, all i do is take the ls motor out and put the b20 in and use all of my current stock stuff Correct? The b20 is slow stock right? I have no extra money to build it right now. Around $1000?

Anyone else have any ideas? This is about all I could come up with. I spent $900 on this car 1 month ago, It runs strong now, but i baby the hell out of it. I want something I dont have to feel guilty about taking to the track to race my friends, and still being reliable. Sorry if this topic is old, I just want to pick something out to focus on so i can get the money together.

best bet is b20. and its not as slow as you think. you got better low end torque without about the same as the ls in the top end. better bang for the buck. and its gonna run on OBD1 so i hope you have a 92-93 gen 2.

and i got my b20 for 600 bucks, your ls parts will swap right over to the b20.

B20 is a good swap. fair improvement over a B18 plus you get a fresh motor for well under your budget. i do have to add that a B20 will work for any 90-93 integra granted that you swap over the proper things onto the new motor.

how would the ls tranny combine with the b20 block.......w/ vtec head maybe?

will it drop right into a DC2?

I have the 90, so obd1 would be a problem with the b20. What about gas too? Which one uses more?

There isn't any OBD issues with swapping any B20 into an LS integra. You're only dealing with the block and cylinder head and carrying over the essential parts to make it work in an integra.. . tranny, flywheel, intake manifold, throttle body, exhaust manifold, distributor, and engine harness.
