you are totally lost.

you have a single stage vtec. there is no dual stage. you have dual cams. we cant go recommending you cams and an ecu without know what your goals are. do you want to go NA or turbo? what's your budget? how much power do you want to make?

Only a 94-01 GSR has dual stage VTEC because of the secondary butterflies in the manifold.

not really. the butterflies are not part of the vtec system.

Correct, It has nothing to do with VTEC operation, it's just designed to help provide more torque at low-mid rpms... try switching it off on the fly, the motor breathes much easier and sounds more "buzzy" if that's the right term when the butterflies are open and the engine is using the short-intake runners for max power at HIGH-rpm. Also, with the butterflies closed, the engine sounds more violent and has an angrier less "buzzy" sound. Unfortunately I don't have P72, I have P28 with GSR program and a GSR head with matching IM, so I had to wire up a switch for the butterflies...
I use the butterflies closed for better start-stop street driving and A/C use and switch to open butterflies for Highway or racing.

Please take a bit more time to write your messages, and give us some more specs.

First, If you did a B16A swap intor your Integra, you shouldn't be asking what VTEC u have...
Second, If it's a B16A with obd-1, you're in good shape.
Do this
-Get ITR cams, or GSR cams for less power than ITR
-ITR valvesprings, retainers
-get a p28 n chip it, or get a p72 or p30 and don't chip
-get 4-1 or ITR headers

You will feel a big difference in VTEC with these mods
plus u can rev out to like 8500-9000 no prob.
Staty away from Aftermarket cams no matter what,
Honda factory cams are MUCH better.
Don't waste money on plugs, wires, ignition, cause they don't do anything to help increase HP. Use NGK OEM wires, plugs, etc.
Hope this helps,
Later,
Mike

:eh:

with a setup like that 9k is pushing it. keep the revs at 8-8.5k

factory cams can only make so much power, if you really want power aftermarket is your only choice. depends on your power goals.

True dat! Just because you can theoritcally rev to 9k doesn't mean it's doing anything for you but taking risks. I agree that the author of this thread is pretty lost, but I hope he's learning something from it at the same time.

Does the stamp on the block just say B16A? What model integra do you have? What ECU are you currently using? What are you goals other than N/A?
