Why wouldn't you just opt for some stronger aftermarket ones?

shot peening is much cheaper. if you dont need to spend more money, dont spend more money...

some machine shops do it, most performance shops do it.

If I go B20 Vtec I will get aftermarket rods and pistons. If I go LSVTEC im using stock ls rods shotpeened with ITR pistons and ARP rod bolts. Does anyone know of any specific places with specific prices. Thanks J

look in your phone book for machinists and performance shops. why send them out if you can have it done locally?

ive heard its like $75 bucks a rod, I wouldnt bother, buy some eagle rods at $365 for a set you cant go wrong. comes with new arp bolts. its recommended you dont re torque your rod bolts, but to go and get new ones from honda. the metalurgy of modern honda engines is pretty damn good. Shotpeening is a thing of the past for v8s and that sort of era.

:dunno: my friend had his LS rods shotpeened cheaply enough that it was worth it to buy ARP rod/main studs to go along with it and he reved his LS-Vtec to 7500 without ever having any trouble...
