Default Ghetto rig a cold air intake?

ok ok ok follow me on this, is it do-able to like....buy some good ol pvc pipe from lowes and run it from my intake down to where a normal cold air intake would go? Then slap on a filter and it work the same/work at all?

I drive a 2005 scion tC, 2.4L engine (same engine as a 00ish camry and possibly a gts <im still looking into that>)

It would work. You probably won't pick up any HP, just noise.

Skoopa - you should stick to the toyota forums
(I drive a Celica)

ANyways, the GTS has the 2zz, which has vvtli; what you have i believe is just the regualar vvti (variable valve timing intel. - no lift)

The CAI will work, but wouldn't you want something more clean?

celica.net
everythingtoyota.com
6gc.net
alltrac.net
toyotaforums.com

just a few. might have gotten the .net/.com's mixed up, but there's a lot of cars that share the same engine w/ you. Check out the forums there and see the possibilites open up.

Btw, the 7afe which was in some of the corollas can pump out likw 220whp w/ just a bolt on turbo kit, which isnt bad - like 110ish hp.
