Default 9k redline with turbo

hey guys i was thinkin, how much would it cost to build up a motor with a 9k redline and also have it withstand like 20+ lbs of boost, if this is even possible.

Its easy... but you have to approach the problem one step at a time..keeping the other in mind. I would suggest building for boost first.Get a computer, swap out the injectors, rods and pistons and get the whole rotating assembly balanced down to a gnats ass. Run some boost. Then work on your valvetrain, then upgrade your ignition. THEN raise your redline

If you wanna boost 20+, it's time to resleeve that block.

Anything is possible...with that much boost you're going to definately bulletproof the block....resleeve, forged rods/pistons, balance the crank...etc. I hope you're not planning to make this a street car.

you're looking at 8k at least.

you have to think about all the little parts you need that will cost.
fuel pump, lines, filter, fpr, injectors, fuel rail
clutch, axles, Differentials because you'll probably break stock
mounts, pistons, sleeves, rods, bearings
turbo components, turbo, oil lines, water lines, intercooler piping, wastegate, BOV and intercooler.
ignition parts
ECU, boost controller

and then if you get all that you can't run it at the strip because it's too fast so you have to get a rollcage and some slicks

Same thing goes for the autocross, which I don't think you plan to do much of with 20+ psi of boost.

also why 9k redline. You don't need all that.

a properly sized turbo good to 9k at 20psi of boost is gonna cost you a new one a$$hole

I like the new GT30's but they are about 1500

Eh... it's all in what you wanna do, I still plan on building a turbo CRVTEC in the next few years, and feel confident that I can build a daily driver that will boost 9psi street and 22 at the strip. With 2.0L and a good throttle foot, I'd even autocross it. Of course, to do all that I'm set to spend about $15k just on the engine, so like I said, it's all in what you wanna do.

ya, it will run about $15K, trust me, I've done it. I wrote out a list on here just a min. ago, but the website froze and I lost it all. So if you need a list, let me know. Lata.....
