Default How to Increase Torque on H22A ???

The horse power to torque ratio seems a bit low on the torque end. I was wondering if anyone new how to increase the torque on the H22a JDM engine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the most obvious method would be to use a supercharger like the jrsc. that would give you quite a bit more torque and even out the ratio a bit.
almost all of the N/A stuff that you can do would probably up the horsepower a little more than the torque and throw the ratio off even more.

lets not forget that on an NA motor, the torque output is directly related to engine displacement. and we are talking about a 2.2 liter here, not some 3.5 liter V6. remember that the h22a makes excellent torque for its class of motor. cams and head design also play a role.

but yes, forced induction is just that...it forces more volume of air (displacement) by increasing pressure.
laws of physics
therefore a smaller 4 cylinder engine can "simulate" a V8 engine's displacement, by using a turbo or supercharger to force more air thru the combustion cycle.

edit: cam gears and fuel pressure adjustment should allow you to get some more torque outta that bitch in low to mid range powerband.

What about reprogramming the ECU ?? Will that have any effect on torque gains? Anyone know of a shop in the LA area where they drop engines as well as reprogram ECU's ?????
