Default gsr engine into del sol help...

hello,
im new to the world of hondas but not import cars. i just finished a 4A-GE silvertop swap into my AT180 celica. id like to think of myself as less of a toyota guy and more of a import car guy, so spare me the prejudice of not owning a honda...

my girlfriend wants to build a fast del sol, so i suggested dropping in the b18 from an integra gsr. i have a few questions on that...

would it be easier to buy just the engine (and related parts) or a whole front clip?

where is a good place to get the b18 (usdm or jdm...dosent really matter)?

to keep the wiring simple...is there any pre made wiring harnesses out there for this type of swap?

anything else i should know before we start ordering parts (any swap pages out there?)

were going to find the cheapest sol we can, so most likely it will have a d series engine.

thanks for all your help

btw, if anyone cares
www.geocities.com/celicasleeper to see my car
its a ****ing blast to drive now...

the b series swap into a del sol isn't a big deal at all. most complete swaps come with everything you need.

www.sohfast.com wwwjdmhondaparts.com www.hmotorsonline.com our for sale forums, ebay, www.thepartstrader.com (kinda shady)

a complete swap should come with the engine harnass. a complete swap should include the following: motor, and trans, shift linkage, axles with intermediate shaft, wiring harnass, all mounts (5 in total), and the computer from which the car it was pulled from.

anything else i should know before we start ordering parts (any swap pages out there?)

most del sols have d series motors, only the vtec del sol had the b series

other good links
http://www.hondaswap.com

one big thing you will need is a 94-97 del sol VTEC(the one with a b16) shiftlinkage, that is the only one WILL work for the swap. You could get it at www.hondaatutomotiveparts.com or www.hparts.com part number is: gearshift rod/54201-SR2-G03 and extension/54301-SR2-G01
