i recommend short ram.
read the results from tuner performance labs or watever.
of course ive had the "ebay" intake and now an AEM and the ebay thing was a POS compared...the cone always fell off.

nothing wrong with buying AEM, just dont believe their numbers

and yes it is overpriced for a painted metal tube with a cotton-gauze filter on the end of it, but hey we live in america here, this aint ****in russia baby

NO SOUP FOR YOU

I preffer cold air were the filter is far from the engine and away from all that heat the engine creates, but short ram creates more hp, I guess it just comes down to what you like best. That goes for the generic and name brand intake too.

Or you can avoid getting an intake all together and just buy the KN filter, remove the resonator box and tubing and just strap the filter to the end of the end that would go into your resonator box. You now have a poor man's intake.

bubble gum jr. - i like your taste, i took a cone style filter off ebay ($5) and clamped it on my STOCK intake... i dont' know any different from stock - short ram - cold air intakes... its all in your mind cuz of the sound makes it seem faster, this is on my 92 accord lx

I think the only honda, acura engines that you WILL notice a power difference from the seat-of-the-pants is the K series engines and maybe the H series.. all other it'll be in your head from how loud it is. thats just my opninion

Only problem with that poor man's intake is the stock nasty, small diameter, rippled intake hose.

If you go to an exhaust shop that has a piping bender they can make you a new upper arm for like $15.

While everyone's talking about intakes, I always wondered if Honda owners in Japan use similar intakes as here. Reason I ask, is from what I understand Spoon does not sell and intake system as AEM or others, except for the very expensive(carbon/kevlar adapter)and seems as if all the pictures I see of Honda's in Japan utilize the stock components. I would also think that just taking off the resonators and other useless crap would function well enought.

1. - while AEM and other intake's dont show you 20HP, they still show gains.

2. - any DOHC VTEC motor is going to show a higher increase in power. including b18c series, h22a series, b16 series, k20 series, f20 series.

The endurance races that Spoon and Mugen build parts for require you to keep your stock intake up until the airbox, which is why they build those strange snorkel intakes.
