Default Need Help Installing Head....

my timing belt went out a couple of weeks ago and i had this shop replace it and they said when the belt went out, i bent 4 valve stems and so i was able to get a replacement head from another 97 integra non vtec with close to the same amount of miles on it. well i have all the basic tools and a torque wrench but i was wondering what else i will need? is it neccessary to replace all the gaskets? someone told me to replace the timing belt again even though its only been like 2 weeks:dunno: also, does anyone know where i can find the torque specs for my head? any and all help would be great:thumbup: also, how long will this usually take to complete? oh, this might sound stupid but should i adjust the valves before i install the head or after its on the block? thanks again:goodjob:

You have to replace all gaskets, but you will still use your T-belt.

get the top end gasket kit
change the timing belt and tensioner
get it all here

:edit: oops im stupid, thats honda parts only :edit:

dont mess with the belt that those guys installed, cuz guess what...if it breaks premature you aint gonna be able to cry to them after you touched it

get a shop manual of some sort, for the procedure and torque specs.

one of these is fine for what ur doing

helms($90)
chiltons($15)
haynes($15)

You really don't need to replace the timing belt.

You can just replace:
intake manifold gasket
exhaust manifold gasket
coolant
head bolts (you can get ARP studs from Summit for ~$100)
head gasket

The haynes manual had everything I needed in it as far as torque specs for my rebuild so it'll work just fine for this.
