Default J30 into 5th gen accord?

I know the 95 and up accords were available with the 2.7 V6, but what about putting a j30a into a 94 accord 4 cylinder?? Anyone have any info??? Thanks.

I dont have any info on this swap, but you are probably better off w/ a four cylinder such as an H22. The honda accord v6 engines arent very performance oriented.

yeah, i was thinkin about that route, but I used to have a CL and I really miss all that torque from the 3.0. Oh well, I dont have the money anyway, i'm just really curious if anyone has done it. The j30 is a tank of an engine... its just the tranny that is mated to it that sucks... it dosent handle any power.

What's a J30t?

The 98-02 Accord V6 motor is the J30a1. And it sucks ass. Get an H22a.

if you are talking about the v6 engine from the 5th gens. i do not think that motor will go in without serious modification.

The 5th gen accord with 4 cylinder engines had the same front end. The 5th gen v6 accord has a different front end. Which is longer. For the bigger engine.

Not possible without serious work.

All in all. You can always buy a civic and put the h22 or even a b18 motor in there. for the good amount of torque. i'm happy with mine.

another route to take is turbo on your car. but i think the accord motors have an 8.something:1 compression ratio, so you wouldn't build much low end torque. you'd have more torque still though..

Default 3.0

been there done that or lets say doing that. I have a 95 delsol si and i used a 99 accord v6 for a donor. It will fit but you have to cut your radiator support to make room for the new bigger radiator it it will get warm. all of the front end has to be remove and replaced with the accords. i used the subframe spidles, rotors lower control arms cv joints off of the accord. struts are about the same but i changed them too. I had to change upper control arms to skunk work camber kits and my camber is still off about 1in and to fix it i have to redrill the towers and cut interfender well (unibody not platic) for more clearance. Tranny sucks, auto is not the way to go if your going to do it you should go with the cl manual tranny. I plan on swapping it in soon.
