Default need new tranny

i drive a '00 civic si and im having problems with my tranny...whenever i shift into 3rd at a fast speed it grinds and i think the synchro has gone bad. i want to take suggestions on how i should deal with this. i figure my choices are to have it rebuilt, find a remanufactured one, or buy a new or used one. any opinions?

it is very common in a B series engine that the syncromess goes...that is what u are having problems with. NO u dont need to rebuild the tranny at all. u can go to a dealership and have them just replace that syncro....It is nothing major to ride on for a while( u wont do to much damage at all) it is just annoying to here it grind when u r shifting... Just replace the syncro
