Tell your friend to ditch the E55 and upgrade to the E55 AMG (says the poor man). The Mustang driver would have been like, "WTF? Dragstrip mutherf*cker! Now!"

Read the post carefully.......I said the Mustang had a blown 308 with 4:55 gears and a T56 (6 speed) and Lakewood drag shocks and springs with a cushion. That car not only was putting out some serious power (like 500+ probably) but it squatted like crazy, hooked up and took off. He would have raped an AMG man, that was a fast car. From the specs, I'm guessing that car was capable of a 10 sec 1/4 mile. If you have ever seen or are familiar with a Mustang with those specs then you would realize that they are almost impossible to beat unless your car has a drag style suspension available for it. Not even an AWD car could hook up like that.......at least not right out of the box. Then on top of the hook up is balls to the wall horsepower. However I'm guessing on a road course that the 308 powered Mustang I saw would not handle too well.......but then it's not set up for road courses, just runs on the strip or from a light. FYI, that Mustang would also laugh at Vipers.......it was QUICK and I saw it with my own eyes. It made my car look like a tinker toy!

E55 = E55 AMG, dummy. Mercedes uses three numbers for its cars, and two numbers for its AMG tuned cars. EX. E320, E500, E55. C230, C320, C32. S500, S600, S55.

The E55 is one of the fastest cars made today, but NOTHING is gonna catch a heavily modified Mustang.

haha. I got owned. Thanks for the lessons dudes. I'll shut up now.

Edit: Your original post said it was a 408 btw. Just pointing that out to show I reread your story carefully.

Only mods to the car will be the competition springs and 5-way adjustable struts, cat back, and I have MAc long tube race headers and a Mac Pro-Chamber H-pipe on the way. I'll be putting out maybe about 280-285 horses I'm guessing when the exhaust is done as soon as the car comes out of storage.

What are you driving? I know you have a whole garage of goodies......
How are the roads in Nova Scotia for driving? Are those twisties by the Atlantic as nice as they look in those environmental scenic ads?

I don't have anything with four wheels here that can even come close to your GT right now. Maybe something with two weels though.

The scenery is nice.......the potholes and cracks are not!! Most of the coastal roads are heavily traveled with tourists but inland in farm country or forest country are some pretty challenging drives. Most of the main hi-ways are two lane with passing lanes for slow vehicles going up the long hills. Those roads are fun for the GT because it makes a lot of power and can take out mostly anything on the hills.....unless it's a Corvette or something obvious like that. The rough back roads are the main reason I am going with the suspension set-up I bought. I will have to take the car out and set it up for those rough roads because as I have mentioned in other posts, rough road is the GT's weakness but the parts I have to install will all but eliminate that issue. Sunday drives are quite fun.

As for bikes.......I don't have enough guts for that! I will not race a bike on the road unless I'm pushing 400hp because most bikes are crazzy fast! Do you ride?

Yah, come spring i'll be riding a Honda 600RR but it depends on insurance. Last quote was around 5-6k, for some reason insurance prices on bikes jumped 40% in Ontario while they froze car rates. Stupid liberals.

That sucks! They legislated insurance to roll back the rates here in NS.......I actually got a serious rate decrease because they found the insurance industry to be chargign unfair prices. I'm paying in the neighborhood of $1700 for an 8 cyl sports car........not bad at all.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.........with a bike comes high insurance and with a V8 comes high fuel consumption......which hurts when the damn oil companies decide to gouge. Gas is up to $.81 a litre down here. that's hi-way robery!

Ya I didn't notice the typo till I got called on it........embarasing. Anyway it was indeed a blown 308 and it was a fast car........makes mine look like a baby. I'm not doing a thing to my engine, I'm saving the cash to get a 351 or 460 so I will make that kind of power someday. Till then I'll prepare the tranny and rear end to handle that type of engine.
