Then as the air tries to make its way down the rear hatch it's going to have to make a nice abrupt turn again to follow the trunk line, then separate as it flows of the cliff that is the RSX's rear end. You'll get some nice wake shedding off that which is going to add to your drag. The RSX has aggressive lines running down the side, perfect for adding more separation and wakes. Add on to that that the fact that the undercarriage is exposed (so any air under the car is completely turbulent), the wheels have no dams or covers (so any air that touches the wheels will turn turbulent), there are about a dozen protrusions off the body that will cause turbulence (such as wiper nozzles, wipers, emblems, trim, the antenna, door handles, and side mirrors). If you really want to be aerodynamic you would be almost reclined flat so the car can be flattened out as well.

Nobody would buy a car that is truly aerodynamic because it would be the most uncomfortable thing to drive and horribly inconvenient. And, add to that car manufacturers don't really care about aerodynamics because for the speeds we go at it doesn't really matter. In 2001, GM was beginning to consider adding a full-time aerodynamicist to their body design team for the Corvette. So, yeah, aerodynamics on any passenger vehicle is horrid (the exceptions being specialized vehicles like the Insight, or the EV1).
i said INTEGRA not rsx...totally different...i completely agree with you on the aerodynamics of the rsx...but the integra, corvette, bmw, etc, they have good aerodynamics, maybe not great, but certainly not crappy.

The same principles generally apply for all passenger cars. Again, the only cars I would consider remotely aerodynamic are the Insight and the EV1.

Wow you're a smart cookie. The RSX is the next generation Integra, and the Integra does have crappy aerodynamics. Why do you think they dont put all the gaping holes on the drag cars that make 150mph+ passes?

:nervous:

actually, the rsx is not the next generation integra....it took its place. and by the way, the reason why passenger cars don't the "the best" aerodynamics is because we want to drive good looking cars. I never said that the aerodynamics are awesome, I just said that they aren't "crappy." They do consider aerodynamics when designing cars, however, they keep it at a level which is visually appealing. oh and those "gaping holes, provide airflow to the engine, rather than having the engine in the open or having the gaping whole on top of our hood like on drag cars.

I guess Super Street is wrong when referring to the E-Games RSX as an Integra Type R multiple times.

Only in America is it the "Type-S", in Japan it's still the ITR.

ok, well, lets see what the vice president had to say...

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Satisfying as the Acura Integra used to be, its hot new replacement cranks up the sport-coupe category to a new level. Whether on a demanding race course or while easing down two-lane straightaways in southern Georgia, the new coupe proved to be a performer that demands recognition.

"We've continued to move the Acura brand in the direction of increased sportiness and prestige," said Dan Bonawitz, vice-president of corporate planning and logistics.

now, do you really think that the vice pres would let the press say that the rsx was the integras replacement if it wasn't? the only reason why it is still the integra in japan is because its HONDA.

another point...let us look at the history of acura.
the vigor was replaced by the rl
the legend was replaced by the tl/cl
and now, they have revamped acura as a whole....getting rid of the cl and replacing the integra with a car that would fit in a little better...
this is why there is now the option for type s in the tl and rsx.

OK. I can usually forgive noobs and their ignorance... I mean, after all, they just got here and don't know how things work. But when they come here and argue with long time members on every post they make, it pisses me off. So, here's where you shut the f*$k up, read my post, and get f*$king owned like the stupid noob you are.
1. Oh, so you think the RSX has really poor aerodynamics, but that Integra (based on a MANY year old body design) is GREAT.
WRONG, STUPID.
2. So the RSX isn't known as the Integra in other places around the world (but not the US, like Justin said)? Really?
NO, NOT REALLY, YOU IGNORANT F*%K.

Since you seem to think you are right on every post, even though you have been a completely ignorant troll the whole time.... what do you have to say to this? (If you need help to find exactly what information in these articles proved you are a dip-shit, I can assist with another post.)

Also, since you never really got an answer to your question:
