I am new to cars but am quite smart and willing to put in a lot of time into my car. I am looking to put in a new engine into my car (95 Civic CX HB). I am looking into putting a d16z6 engine which I am pretty sure I can find a used one for around 800-1000. I was wondering how much it would cost for parts to build a d16z6 engine and how much I would spend on tools in the process. I understand the different quality parts and brand will make the estimate vary a lot but I am looking for a ball park figure. Also I am looking for a list of all the parts that I would need to buy to build one and a list of the tools that would be needed. And any books or web sites that tell how to build a d16z6 engine or any engine that has same steps which I could follow should I choose to build it.
