basically your talking about a mini me swap. it will work with the pm6(a6) ECU but you'll have to have something to engage VTEC (shift light, VAFC, etc) and if you use the p28 (z6) youll need to do some wiring

well if you use the si ECU and an autometer shift light it'll prolly be cheapest. i think the lights are like 80 bux and the pills (little chips w/ different RPM settings) for it are like 30 for 10 (they come in packs like 3000RPM-4000 RPM)
my buddy has one i'll see how much he wants for it if your interested but he only has the 8k-9k pill pack (used the shift light w/ his old b16)

you guys forget that unless you have the correct ecu, or a vafc, you're not getting the correct fuel! That's spells disaster over time. Get a vafc, or at least a fields vtec controller. running the p28 is a pain, unless you get the obd1 plugs and do a ton of rewiring.

or
you can use the p28 ecu and get the Hasport conversion harness.
obd-0--obd-1, plug and play, basically, as far as the car will know, it WILL be obd-1.
and if you use the shift light on your tach, basically you're just using the shift light as an activation switch for vtec engagment. On a d16z, the factory vtec engagment is at 5500-5700rpm., so you set your shift light to come on at 5500rpm, as soon as the light comes on, so does vtec, BUT the shift light will stay on until redline, or until you shift. I wouldn't use this method though, i would just use the p28ecu and get the Hasport conversion harness. You won't have a blaring light on all the time, and also it will probably run alittle better, it will run like its supposed too.
