Climate Controls Bulb...
Was wondering if anyone knew how to take apart the heat/climate controls to replace the bulb?
I am looking to change the standard white bulb into a green one but am unable to take apart the controls or the plastic border/housing...
its a 96 4d Civic

there are no screws holding the black border around the equipment.... at least i don't think so. i took the grey panel beneath it off but doesn't give me access to behind the climate controls to change the bulb...
ok heres what you have to do:
1. remove glove box
2. remove driver side knee panel
3. remove center plastic peice (where 12v adapter is located)
4. reach up and unscrew the bronze colored screws(i think its 3 that have to be removed)
5. unplug green connector, and brown connecter from back of climate control. follow black coated wire thingy and unhook from opposite end(not the end connected to climate control)
6. get back up and let blood drain out of your head
7. take a flat head screwdriver and pop off your hazard and rear defrost panels.
8. disconnect hazard and rear defrost peices. unscrew screws in the back of where they were.
9. pull real hard and the whole thing comes out in one peice
10. locate 4 bronze screws holding climate control to console and remove
11. pull out climate control. locate black wires in the back, and pull them out. they are attached to the bulb sockets which are holding the bulbs..
there are only two bulbs used to light up the climate controls
1. remove glove box
2. remove driver side knee panel
3. remove center plastic peice (where 12v adapter is located)
