yah it is the speedometer, the tach of course flys up but i think i know what im talking about when i say the tranny is toast because the tachometer will fly up if i put it in 5th gear and step on the gas and the tach speedometer immediately flys up to 100 mph, so something is definitely wrong with the tranny, gear engagement is smooth, well as smooth as its always been, when i rip it apart i'll definitely let u all know what went wrong, engine is in perfect condition just installed it about 2-3 months ago, the tranny has always made some rattling some im guessing it was just bad from the get-go

Geez, You should've said that before. h:

So your speedometer works but ONLY in 5th gear? Correct?

Do you drive it normally like say from 1st to 5th gear? And then the speedometer works? Or just throw it in 5th gear?

Thats very strange. You almost get power to the wheels because your speedometer gear on the differential is turning.

Yes please keep me updated.

no ur misunderstanding me, the tranny is toast, the speedo will fly up in any gear 1-5 and reverse, the car goes no where, no turn to the axles at all. there is no engagement at all but the speed sensor is still working which means the differential is spinning which also means that something is seriously wrong inside the tranny, have yet to pull it or even remove the axles, i'm hoping that whatever broke apart did not damage the tranmission casing and that i'll be able to use my spare hf L3 tranmission to replace whatever parts are messed up and still keep the zc L3 low gears in place with the exception of the 5th gear which i want jsut because it is better for freeway driving

ok finally got around to pulling the car apart, after i got to really looking at the drivetrain the tranny is fine, but the intermediary shaft broke around the mounting bracket, and caused that side of the drivetrain to come apart, so luckily the zc tranny is still good, but i need a new half shaft and this time i have to find a better way of mounting it to the engine, im thinking of machining a mounting plate to "properly allign" an 88-89 integra half shaft to the block so that i will be able to put in more than 1 bolt to lock it onto the block. but now ive got a new act stage 3 clutch and 11.5 act flywheel coming tomorrow

if you get a 86-87 manual interm. shaft from a Integra should bolt to exsisting three block mounting points.

ACT makes a lightened flywheel for a ZC? I called them and they said the old model supported was 1991. Let me know what model number you ordered.

nah the 86-87 isnt a direct swap over, u have to cut off the top mount because itll want to go over the oil filter, and then u need to drill out the correct holes, when u put the shaft all the way into the tranny the holes are way off. same with the 88-89 integra shaft. u used the flywheel and clutch for a crx si model.

act street and strip clutch set ss clutch set hc4-hdss 309.99$
act street lite flywheel street 11.5 lb 600120 209.99$
