Default alternator

I left HIN and was stuck in traffic and my battery light started flickering on and off again. One guy said my belt was slipping another said alt was going bad . I know the problem is mostly heat related cause it doesn't happen when I am moving fast. The longest its stayed on was about 2 min. I did notice when I rev it a little at a light the headlights get a bit brighter could this be a battery problem. Would heat affect a battery and maybe cause it to drop its voltage and then make the light come on till its back at full charge or should I just go out and change the alt. Its too hot but I guess I will unless you guys have a better alternative.

Thanks

Well you might as well try to tighten or replace the Alternator Belt. And depending how old the battery is they eventually loose the ability to charge.

could be the belt. It was humid as hell that night. Yes, I was there. Anyway, check the belt, take the car down to a shop and have them check the alternator, and also have someone run a test on the battery, or jsut get a new one.
