What a nice, helpful post. Find a shop and find out what your options are and see how they fit in your budget. I would do a 5 speed conversion, but it will probably be rather expensive.

StickyHydro,
You might have pondered this already, but before you get involved in what kind of engine and tranny to drop in there, I'd think about something else. What are your goals for the car? Daily driver? Autocross? Knowing that should help your decision.
My daily driver is a beater Civic. I do all the maintenance on it and just keep it running to keep the other cars out of the salt on the roads in winter. As long as it keeps getting 40+mpg, I'm happy. No shame in a cheap daily driver that frees you up for other chores.
So, if you want to race your car, and have a budget for the swap, by all means go for it. But as crxrocks suggests, do your homework and lots of shopping. Make sure you can talk to clients of the shop that would potentially do the swap to verify how the work was done.
And, as GreenMachineREX pointed out, proper spelling and punctuation are important in life. For many of us, English is the only language we speak, please do it properly. Heh, I looked at a resume the other day, misspellings all over it. Where did it go? Propmptly into the trash bin.

Congrats on wanting a bigger engine. You have many choices on engines and I doubt you will have any tranny problems based on the power output from any stock d series engine. I would suggest you look at your cash flow and just figure out what would work best for you and your wallet. You might be better off doing this that would give you some more horses and should be a bit cheaper then going the full engine swap route. I would suggest you get some friends that have some skills in the garage so you can learn to wrench yourself, Labor is the most expensive thing when trying to mod you car. Where are you from, see what shops people on the forums use in your area and call around for some estimates. Your best bet to get what you want is www.thepartstrader.com you can find some damm good deals on there. 1 thing you should remember is the fact that your auto tranny will not last long if you decide to beat it up with neutral drops and crazy downshifting so be good to it or you will be very pissed when you have to replace it.

now thats shooting for the starts :exnbp: i'd say find a old civic thats being parted out and buy everything needed for a auto-->5 speed swap. it may be time consuming but thats your best bang for the buck. if your not satisfied by that, i'd say go for the zc
