91 Civic Bogging Issues
The bogging happens time to time. When it does it is if I red line car sometimes or after I run car at the track headed home.
Now what happens is I'll be in 5th cruising then car feels like when you run out of gas it slows down then kind of a hard kick then boom it'll start picking up speed once again then every now then.
My fuel filter is the same since I had the swap done in 2005. I've changed my plugs, cap, rotor.
I was thinking of letting the dealer just check it out so I can know what.If I put new wires in do you think that should do it.

I kind of was guessing that but wasn't sure. It should be located near the oil filter right. BTW it's a 1gen hould I go oem @ dealer or Autozone type of filter.Another thing for my fuel filter since it's a 1G B16 can I use a 99 Si or just get a 91 Civic Si.
Thanks
Thanks
If it does it more after you've gotten some heat into things, or in hot ambient temps., it sounds like it could be the ignition coil going out. Replacing the fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea just in case, but I don't think the symptoms of that would show up only after you've driven it a while.
As for plug wires, I spent ~$75 on NGK blues for my car a couple years ago, thinking the old ones must be in need of replacement, but when I finally got around to checking the resistance of the oems ('92 w/ 120k miles) I found them to be well within spec., which explains why the new wires made no difference. Unless they have any visible cracks in the insulation, I'd say leave well enough alone as they hold up surprisingly well.

Well, I'm having a speedshop check my bogging out Mon. I went to track last night made 2 passes. It didn't do any bogging. Now coming home I was half way there criusing when the bogging started again. No warning lights ever come on. I pray these guys find out what's going on. I have no other complaints about my B16. Wish it had more tq.
Clogged fuel filters aren't intermittent issues though, sounds like your fuel pump is on it's way out. The only way to tell though is to pressure test your fuel pump while the bogging happens to see what is happening to it. If it drops below 38PSI when it is bogging you can bet it is the fuel pump. It really does sound like a fueling issue though.
